In a meitheal, no mother climbs their mountains alone.
Tailored support. Exceptional care. Peace of mind for the whole family.
rooted beginnings Meitheal
Meitheal / meh-hal /
In Irish culture, when the work is too important to do alone, a meitheal forms. Neighbors gather to do meaningful work together. When the harvest needed bringing in, a roof needed raising, or a new mother needed holding, the community came together to support one another. The work is shared because it matters.
Rooted Beginnings Meitheal is your meitheal for motherhood — lactation care at the center, held with postpartum and newborn care woven around it.
the Road to rooted beginnings Meitheal
I believe the earliest days of parenthood were never meant to be navigated alone. Rooted Beginnings Meitheal was created from my passion for caring for mothers, babies, and families during one of life's most beautiful—and most vulnerable—transitions.
My approach brings together years of hands-on newborn and childcare experience with specialized education in lactation, postpartum support, and newborn care. My goal is to provide families with more than an extra set of hands. I want to be a knowledgeable, reassuring presence in your home—someone you can trust to care for your baby, support your recovery, help you navigate feeding, answer the questions that inevitably arise, and bring a little more calm and confidence to those early days.
My professional background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of South Carolina, Newborn Care Specialist training through the Newborn Care Training Academy (NCTA), and Postpartum Doula training through DONA International. My lactation education includes training through both the UC San Diego Lactation Consultant Program and the Healthy Children Project, combining comprehensive lactation education with hands-on clinical experience supporting mothers and babies. I am continuing my professional journey toward becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
Before specializing in maternal and newborn care, I spent more than a decade caring for children—from working in childcare settings to serving families privately as a nanny and household manager, including extensive hands-on experience caring for infants and newborns. These years gave me an understanding not only of babies, but of the unique dynamics, routines, and needs of each individual family.
Rooted Beginnings brings these experiences together with one purpose: to give families tailored support, exceptional care, and peace of mind as they find their footing, build confidence, and begin life with their newest family member.
This meitheals Mission
My mission is to help mothers and families find their way back to the basics of newborn care, feeding, and postpartum recovery. As a lactation consultant, newborn care specialist, and postpartum doula, I believe the transition into parenthood can feel a little less overwhelming when we slow down, simplify, and focus on what truly matters.
My approach is rooted in understanding the why behind the challenges families face, whether with feeding, recovery, or adjusting to new routines. Together, we’ll get to the root of your concerns, create a thoughtful, personalized plan that supports your family’s needs, and prepare for the seasons ahead with confidence and ease.
Above all, my heart is in supporting families through one of life’s most tender transitions. My goal is to offer a calm, nurturing presence, trusted guidance, and practical support that honors your instincts and helps you feel at home in this new chapter. Because sometimes, the most meaningful support is simply finding your way back to the basics, one day at a time.
